Steering Committee 2011

The Harris County Green Party is led by an elected body called the Steering Committee. The Steering Committee comprises two Co-Chairs (typically one female and one male), four at-large members, a treasurer and a secretary. The Steering Committee has the responsibility of representing the membership, guiding the party, managing the funds, setting the monthly meeting agenda, and acting on behalf of the party between general membership meetings. Steering Committee members are elected by the general membership and serve a two-year term. We use preference voting methods in our elections (see links IRV), the most recent of which was in February, 2011. The committee meets two weeks before the General Membership meeting (see calendar).
