What car better symbolizes warped national priorities than the Hummer? Hummers get an environmentally disastrous nine (yes, nine) miles to the gallon. Already wealthy businesspeople get obscene tax breaks to buy them for next to nothing. They perpetuate our dependence on oil and oil wars as they normalize militarism in our neighborhoods. They have a horrendously high collision and fatality rate, so they don't make any of us one bit safer. Let's face it: Hummers are a bummer - for our environment, our children, and our world.

Join CODEPINK and Global Exchange as we celebrate Earth Day by taking action in the National Day of Action Against Hummers.

Organize an April 22 rally at a Hummer or General Motors dealership in your city. If there isn't a Hummer or GM dealer in your city, protest at another well-trafficked downtown location.

Never organized a protest? Not to worry. They don't have to be big - even a few people holding up signs in front of a local Hummer dealership would be great! We'd be more than happy to help. Just contact us at info@codepinkalert.org or call 415.575.5555. Be sure to let us know what you've planned so we can publicize it as part of the national day of action.

Ideas for signs include: Hummers: Driving Us to War, You Play Soldier in Your Hummer, While Soldiers Die in Theirs, Big Hummer Little Brain, etc.

April 25, March for Women's Lives is Around the Corner!

CODEPINK, standing hip to hip with thousands of women'sorganizations around the country, will converge in Washington, D.C. on April 25 to demand reproductive freedom and justice for all women.
