The Quaker Peace Festival

When: 9:00am-Sundown, Saturday, November 4th

Where: Live Oak Friends Meeting 1318 W. 26th Street

Purpose: To build peace through community awareness and involvement. To provide a day where the peace community can come together, fellowship and have fun. Finally, to provide an opportunity for people to be introduced to and to get involved with organizations or groups that work for peace and the improvement of our country.

Booths and Vendors: There will be many non-profit organizations and vendors that support peace and the community.

Walking meditation at 9:00am.

Workshop at 10:00 am: “Beyond war,” “Teaching Peace,” “Give Peace a Dance,” and storytelling.

Lunch served at 12:00pm and through the day. Free

Music and performances: Million Year Dance, Zin, Hank Woji, DRUM, The Living Room Project (modern dance), spoken word, guest speakers (Kath Kidd-Peace Alliance & Campaign for a Department of Peace, two more tba)

Cooperative games & kid’s hands on workstations.

Soda Bottle Peace Foundation.

Sunset meditation with the open Sky Space (weather permitting).
