The UH Law Center Criminal Justice Institute and the Houston Area Coalition for Police Accountability present Prof. Samuel Walker of the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Prof. Walker is the leading scholar in this country on civilian review boards for law enforcement. He will speak on police use of force reporting systems, the need for open and accessible citizen complaint procedures, early intervention systems and effective forms of citizen oversight of the police. Thursday, March 25, 12-1 pm, 144 BLB. Lunch will be provided.

The Houston Area Coalition for Police Accountability is a non-partisan organization whose mission is to develop, propose and implement a model of civilian oversight, which facilitates police accountability and improved law enforcement culture.

The University of Houston Law Center is located off of Interstate 45, south of downtown Houston.
To reach the UH Law Center from I-45 northbound, take the Elgin-Cullen/Lockwood exit, turn left at the light, and proceed under the freeway to the traffic light at Entrance 18 where you will turn left. Then turn left at the first inner-campus road which will dog-leg around to a four-way stop. Proceed from the stop sign, and take your first left hand turn into Parking Lot 19B.
To reach the UH Law Center from I-45 southbound, take the exit at Spur 5. Turn right at University of Houston Drive to Calhoun Road, where you will turn right. Proceed down Calhoun, and turn left at the second stoplight, Entrance 19. Turn right into Parking Lot 19B.
