INSTANT GRATIFICATION to clean up and RECYCLE:
The greens are going to converge on the polling locations as soon as they close to pick up campaign signs.
(7 Pm on Tuesday night Nov. 4)
Part of poll employees jobs is to trash the signs!
Let's get them before they do! and then PARTY

CLEAN UP THE CITY - lose the eye sores!
KEEP THEM OUT OF THE LANDFILLS
RECYCLE THE PLASTIC - 35 cents a pound $ for Greens!
REUSE THE METAL FRAMES - in future campaigns or even sell them back to the sign makers for $1 a piece!

it's all in a 3 hours or less!
and with a happy ending just like a sitcom!
we needs hands, and people with trucks and vans to take the signs (hopefully 1000s of them) to the storage facility that Leisure Learning is lending us!
then celebrate the end of this campaign season with a party for progressive activists after we drop off the signs!

1. The BIGGY that we need tons of people for is the elections on November 4th TUESDAY.
We will need people anytime between 7 am and 7 PM to stand outside of polling places and hand out cards with the lists of green-endorsed progressive candidates to voters as they go in.
2. THEN at 7:01 PM when they close, EVERYBODY will start to gather up the campaign signs. Usually the signs get thrown away and taken to the landfills. This time, we are going to not only save the environment by picking them up before others can trash them, but make $ for our next campaigns by recycling the plastic and selling back the metal frames! IT'S a win-win situation! we need people with vans and trucks and lots of hands, then when we all get them to the storage area, we will have a post-campaign party to celebrate! If there are run-offs, then we will need the signs again anyway too! and maybe we could even sell them back to other candidates who are in the run offs to make more $!
3. But until then, right NOW, we could REALLY use help with a couple campaigns that the green party is supporting. On the weekends, we go door to door where registered voters live and give out leaflets and talk to people about the issues like flooding, gentrification and the corruption in HISD to convince people to vote for our candidates. It's really fun because people appreciate your effort to come and personally tell them about these things that effect them and their children's schools. it's a really good way to improve personal skills and your ability to sound convincing and confident in any situation! (resume booster!)
4. we also need people to call voters. It's called phonebanking. we have a massive list of phone numbers that we need to follow up on, from people who have expressed interest in helping out the campaigns, and who we need to remind to vote for JOlanda Jones and Iris Williams ( you can see the list of candidates on www.harriscountygreenparty.org)
5. Last but not least, we need people to help put out signs for our candidates and help with mail -outs. So let me know what sounds the best to you
