You may say, "But if the city can't afford it, What else can we do?"
How about setting up a credit union that would use employee savings to better the community rather than sending money to big corporate banks that take out profits and give dividends to stockholders. Doesn't it sound better to invest taxpayers' and workers' money in local housing loans and projects that create jobs here?
