Ballot Access & Petition Drive

1. List of good places for daily signature gathering
2. Calendar of special events for team efforts

(Download this petition form and help gather signatures.)

Remember: Before you have anyone sign, make SURE that: 1) They are registered to vote, 2) They did NOT vote in the primary elections March 9.
(Also, they shouldn't sign our petition AND another party's petition (like Libertarian; if they do, their signature on both forms will be technically invalid). However, people ARE allowed to sign our petition and individual candidate petitions (like Ralph Nader for US President, or Michael Fjetland independent - wanting to replace Tom DeLay as does our own Jean Zajicek for US House 22).

DETAILS: The Green Party once again must fight to regain ballot access in Texas. This means that before Green Party candidates can have our party affiliation listed as GRN with their name on the Texas ballot, WE need to collect tens of thousands of signatures statewide on official petition forms. You can help get us on the ballot!

1. Register to vote. You must be registered to vote in order for your signature to count.
2. Sign the petition to get the GP on the ballot. Your signature, along with thousands of others will help us get on the ballot. (However, if you voted in the 2004 presidential primary on March 9, do NOT sign. Unfortunately, Texas law says that only people who do not vote in the presidential primary are eligible to sign the petition.)
3. Help get others to sign the petition. Once you've signed the petition you can help by getting others to sign the petition. The more signatures we have, the better off we'll be. If every Green can get just 10 additional signatures, we will meet our goal.

The Petition Drive began March 10, 2004, the day after the Big Party primaries; it ends 75 days later on May 24, by which time we SHALL have collected an average of 1,000 legitimate signatures per day: 75,000. That covers the requirements with a nice solid cushion.

Enough OUT Greens live in Texas that if we each fill up a petition sheet (ten signatures), the Green Party regains ballot access. Just to be sure, let's all of us double up to cover the unfortunate Green folks who don't know enough other politically sensible people... yet! We need to hook up!! But the best part is getting out there in the streets and connecting with your fellow citizens!!! Really. You can volunteer now to help by contacting Nathalie.

Also follow links at the top of this page to: one goes to calendar-style lists of special events and festivals, phone banking opportunities, calendars and schedules; another shows daily opportunities where people gather whether they want to or not.
