Houston
city government elections
We supported these
candidates
Main elections: Nov. 4; run-off Dec. 6. The city should
have used IRV
(Instant Runoff Voting) - save time and a million bucks. And
how about proportional representation as a more FAIR
way of doing democracy than gerrymandering? Reform
It Now! The best thing about the runoff was weekend voting
-- better yet, make Election Tuesdays national holidays!

The
Party of Peace
The
Green Party actively promotes peace. One of our key values is
non-violence. We seek peaceful resolution to conflict, whether
it be on an individual level or an international one. History
shows that violence only returns violence.
The
Green Party encourages our members to promote peace and to pressure
our political leaders to do likewise.

Footnote:
We had a great Green Party PARTY
November 29. THANKS to the organizers and
Super Happy Fun Land, and thanks to the candidates for their
stirring words and vibrant presence!
But
what about the 2004 Presidential Campaign?
Although it seems a long way away, we're
already thinking about the 2004 election. Have you received
your Green Party Ballot in the mail? If not, contact us
at hcgp@hcgp.org. Find
out more about what
we're doing.

the fairly recent Houston Chronicle article
about Green Party 2004 presidential election ideas; includes
some words from David
